My harnesses are 5 foot long. I attach a 1oz inline chain sinker (swivel snap on one end of the weight and a chain on the other end). Attach the chain end to the snap swivel that is on the end of your main line. Then, attach the harness to the snap swivel on the sinker. Reel your line up to your rod tip, and zero out your line counter reel. Let out 31 foot of line and attach your planer board. Let it out away from the boat. It's now fishing "31 back over 29 foot of water".

A 1 oz inline will not be running at 20 foot. The number 2 Tadpole at 27 back is.

    Hope that clears it up.

    Hope that helps.
