Kayak
As I read this I think of Jim Muras' response to being aksed if his team is going to the playoffs in a Coors Light commercial. But instead of playoffs I find myself saying Kayak--Kayak. But hey? If thats what your into? Go for it. As far as beer on my boat? I dont partake but all my buddies do. And they put down quite a few sometimes, but its all good cuz I'm driving and taking into consideration thier ability or lack of to be agile. lol

I didn't mean any more by my reply than for the safety of a kayak in jig season on the reef area it isn't safe to be out there. Pelee Bound posted about his experience close to shore and that makes sense. Going out in the early season jigging from a kayak among all of the other power boats doesn't seem like a good idea. Just my opinion and I would bet others would agree.

All i think anyone was implying is for the safety of the kayaker...... just cause its legal doesnt mean its the smartest thing to do............. i think everyone needs to get out and dip their jig.......

deadly coastline
Here are the latest statistics for 2009 back thru 1999 released by the USCG in July 2010 for all reported boating accidents. It is contained in PDF files and seperated by year! You be the judge about which coast is more deadly! There is a break down of State by State accidents in each PDF file that you will have to look for and there is also a break down of vessel type (kayak is included) that will be found on a different page of the PDF file.
