Sure. If you feel more comfortable with these, and want to wear it, that’s great. But there’s a difference between that and making them legally required for everyone, including those who don’t want to wear it. Not everything that is thought to be a good thing by part of the people, needs to be therefor legally required for everyone. We are adults and we should make choices. I do not accept for a moment that not wearing a cut off lanyard is creating a huge danger to the public out there on the water.
I also usually wore the lanyard when I was alone on my old boat that had one. Especially in the central basin where there were few boats. But I don’t think we need a law that absolutely legally requires that the operator wear them in all circumstances. That’s what this law does.Last edited by Softshellcrab; 04-21-2021 at 08:03 AM.
