Yeah! I thought everyone got lock jaw. Just like the walleye do from time to time.

Yeah! I thought everyone got lock jaw. Just like the walleye do from time to time.
Just been a bit more active on the ice sites its finally time to get some fresh fish this weekend let me scratch my itch. Ha ha
I will say I am dreaming of warmer days would much rather be in the boat chasing eyes but making the best out of winter. Fishkiller how's the riding you should be getting some miles on I hope.
no riding now not enough snow roughly 80 miles last weekend and thats it. im gonna start tying harnesses.
I navigated west to the Cleveland boat show. All I can say is polish your boats the new ones are out of site price wise. Right now I'm in Erie Pa. on the harbor. It's iced over at Smugglers Wharf for diner. They have lake Erie walleye and perch here.
Hey capt sounds like the right place for dinner I would've ordered a plate of both ha ha. I bet those new boats are really nice I have seen prices on some and I don't think ill ever have a new one myself but lots of great used rigs out there. I am wondering how this mild winter if it continues will affect the spring bite.
As far as the spring bite goes - two weeks ago I was at Bills Hooks and I was talking to Gerry. I believe that is her name. I went to buy some torpedo divers and OR16 clips. She said that a few years ago when the lake did not ice over it was a very tough year fishing. I am hoping it ices over soon. I do not want to see it harder to catch fish than it is now. As far as diner I opted for the Mako shark sandwich. It was very good. The boat show was a lot smaller than it has been in the past. It use to be at least double the size that it was. They had many boats 2,3,4, & 5 years old on display. And those weren't cheap. There was another sportsman show going on at the same time. I saw many carrying around bows in cases. Probably for some competition.
It will help it out a lot, if its a warm spring the day time bite should start sooner.
So what does a shark taste like capt? I never manned up to try shark if fish is fishy tasting I can't do it. Fishkiller how's the head lol I was up in your neck of the woods last night at the lodge.
Much Much better, I tried to pickle my self last night. LoL just getting my stuff together I will be working the Triple S dealer show all week for Torpedo Divers. Unfortunatly its not a public show its dealers and venders only. :(
We will also be working a booth with Torpedo Divers at the LOTSA flea market in Lockport at the Niagara Co. fairgrounds in the 4H building on Feb. 26. Also we will be at the Hamburg Outdoor Show with Torpedo Divers & Traxtech March 8-11 in the main bldg. That LOTSA Flea Market is a great place to buy new and used equiptment at great prices on Salmon and Walleye tackle and equiptment.
The shark tasted good. Not fishy at all. My wife tried it and liked it -goes she made the comment that it wasn't fishy. She thinks that Walleye tastes fishy. Fishkiller thanks for the info. on the shows. I will try to make it to them. I would like to see what's new out there and see what everyone is using.
Feels like we 3 are just a little mental over the eyes its like we're the last men standing with the occasional pipe in from halfpole or wnyguy lol. Guess Walleye isn't just an obsession its a way of life. Capt maybe ill brave it and try shark it will be hard to do very hard time with new foods. Fishkiller I used to get tore up from the floor up till nys fought me a lesson. So I gave it up lol I miss it some days though was lots of fun by what I don't remember ha ha.hard
Your not mental. Just ready to get after them. Wish it would freeze up so we could get them
Yeah Bailey there are not many of us on this site but do you realize something? There have been over 16,600 views on this thread. Someone finds us interesting. Or maybe just funny. Anyways, I got a shot of adrenlin (walleye fever) the other day. I was told that my trailer came in and my boat may be coming in maybe two weeks. I'm half way there and spring is getting closer. Fishkiller - I'll be looking at different ways to outfit the boat in the spring. I've been checking out this web site and others for ideas. Any suggestions? I'll be sure to check out the shows that you mentioned. Half pole did you make it to the Cleveland Boat Show?
I didn't notice all the views till you said something about it guess it is a hot thread. Glad to hear it wont be long on the new boat, then you'll really be eager for spring when it arrives to bad its not like a motorcycle and you could move it into living room haha. We should maybe all do a day out together when season takes off. I do know we should be able to help each other out pretty good this year. I just signed on another house and if all goes well I may look for a little bigger boat myself this spring.
No never made it up there to Cleveland. Had to work.
Bailey -I sounds good. We will have to make it happen this year. Half pole -you didn't miss much. It was no where near as to the size it use to be. So many boat manufactures have gone out of business.
It'll be interesting to see how many hits the new thread gets when this season kicks off. This spring when the site gets more active we will have to get that meet and greet going to.
Yes wait until spring starts - we will have to keep this one going. Today there were 16,717 views. That's the most that I see on the board. Yes we will have to have a meet and greet sometime. You started one last year but it kind of fizzled at the end of last season. I'll be fishing the Southtowns Walleye Tournament this year and last year fishkiller did also. I briefly met fishkiller at the marina when we were done at the end of the day. Hay fishkiller are you still making venison sausage? You never responded about the lead core line on the the other thread on 12/29/11. I need to be trained.
What area do you guys fish. Im not sure if your fishing pa or ny waters. Not familiar with that end of lake. Furthest I've been east is ashtabula in the central basin. That deep water produces great fishing. Just kinda curious after talking to you guys some and reading your reports
I usually go out of buffalo small boat harbor right out in front of windmills around seneca shoal as itI warms i gettried closer to canada and head further west.
I have gone out of Dunkirk & Barcelona but have my best luck closer to home. If you look at sat photo there is big bay west of buffalo right out there.
My home port is Sturgeon Pt. I dry dock there. I usually go east to Buffalo or west to Dunkirk. Most of the time if I go east I should have gone west and visa versa. In the summer I head north towards Canada. Sometimes I go to Dunkirk with my neighbor out of his boat.
My phone sometimes adds extra words in and if I don't catch it, my posts look messed ha ha guess smart phone not to smart.
Fishkiller - the 1850 Commander has a layout that looks very similar to the Lund Sport Angler. I looked at a Sport Angler last year, and read quite a few comments / reviews on the boat. Many people complained that the placement of the counsel was too far forward, and that the SA had a horrible ride on rougher water. The Commander may have the same issue....
Joe
Bailey - My phone does the same thing.
After I submit a reply then read it I say what happened here?
Fishkiller - did you find anything new and exciting at the Tripple S Show?
I have a few new harnesses to try out and I hope mr Walleye likes nuclear pink/purple as much as I do. Also liking the storm mad flash series but wish they could go back to the original patterns before being bought out. I am also kicking my own a$$ over the cotton cordells I bought a handful to try when they came on the market for like 2 bucks a piece now running in same price range as all other sticks. The cotton cordells in perch pattern kick it.
Hey fish killer think I could get a pic of a few of those blades you were talking about gonna get some tied up. Looking for something out of my normal color use. Not want your top secret blades lol just new ideas.
Hey capt pm me your number and where you live fishkiller wants us to get together and head to lockport on the 26th
OK Bailey check your pm's.
Who's counting? There are only 105 days left until May 15 until the marinas and launches open.
I wonder if these quick thaws with warm temps and run off will have an effect spawning fish, maybe make it happen earlier. I know it will make steelhead run earlier. Seems like the eyes would want to do the same at least the creek spawners.
A few weeks ago I signed up for Verizon Fios. Now I get fishing shows 24 hrs. a day. Tarpon fishing in Florida, bass, walleye, etc. etc.etc all over the world. It's good but not as good as being out on lake Erie trolling for walleye. There are MANY fishng opportunities out there. Hay Bailey are you heading to the tropics? I believe you mentioned in a past post that you were planning a trip in Feb.?
I was planning to go see my parents but things are getting hectic but it still may happen they are in port st Lucy fla. I have all this house stuff happening right now. I have time Warner and not usually to many good fishing shows on so your lucky capt fios not available here yet. Time is flying wont be long now I am so ready to drag some worms its gonna be a good year. You know I use a couple other web sites and moderators would take posts like these out of the thread. Guess were on the best one here.
Yesterday the Lake Erie water temperature went up to 37 deg's at this end of the lake. I don't know if that is good or bad???? All that I know is that it not typical for this time of year. ????
Its a great thing, 23 more degrees and its prime temps.
If all you people who just browse the site would sign up and contribute especially when the season starts think how much better this site could be. The more people sharing info along with taking info I am sure would help keep us all on fish. There are a few of us who are learning and I know most everyone here will help you out with PMs to make your trip even better on the lake. We really would have one of the best boards going. So log on and get hyped less than 100 days till were fishing.
spooling up lead core today for the first time!
