Not sure about this but if you are not running any type of water craft then all that is required on the Ohio waters of lake Erie would be a quides license for ice fishing unless you are running an air boat which would require a USCG License to operate a vessel for hire.

I meant nothing by it but did want to get a clarification of the laws so people know. Also if you hire an ice boat you can demand to see their USCG license and they must show it. I only put this out there so you can check and know for sure.
