Gas prices

As they say you have to pay to play.. I dock in the Lost Peninsula Marina and this year people who dock their are supposta get gas at cost...Whatever they pay we pay. Which sounds like a pretty sweet deal when you have 2 boats...But even if we have to pay full price? I'll deal with it..I'm a boater and gas prices will never keep me from being just that..

Definitely for my wife and I. as did the last couple years. being laid off so many times and having to find different jobs ( still looking as of right now). But it won't stop us from going. The weather is our decision if we go or not and how far we'll travel to fish. We used to go to Holiday Village quite a few times a year ( great folks there), we only made it once last year. We don't vacation other than that. Any weekend we can at least make brestbay we go. Hit the lotto and were fishin any day/week/time we want!!! And a new boat too!

Gas prices will make channel 84 all that much more valuable to the members of this site and those that lurk here for information! We can make this a successful year and as painlesss as possible with current up to the min. information via radio and internet! We must all try to work together on this wonderful idea thought up by Gettin Jiggy!

the gas prices will impact all of us, wether you live on or near the lake, those of us that have to tow hundreds of miles to get there will have to think twice about it. The charters will really feel the pain!! If alot of people can't aford it this will impact the whole system, from the room rentels to the bait shops,so the channel 84 is a great idea!! if we don't have to run all over the lake to find fish, the locals know right were to go but us out of staters will benifit from this program!! I'm trying to get 4 guys to come out for a week in early june but I keep getting the same answer (what about the fuel cost?) so I see the thought of many peoples thoughts already and it's just getting started, lets hope something breaks and all this is just a bad dream. We travel 8 hrs each way 3 times a year and the gas prices hurt us last year. I just love the lake for Walleye and Smallies,but if prices climb above $4-$5 per gallon I might have to reconsider Me and my buddy make good money but it just stings to pay big oil companys. I'll pray for lower gas for all of us even if we done make it this year. Tight lines all.

I agree with you boonie, we travel about the same distance, but the trouble is the 3 other guys I fish with are all retired, they came up with a good idea,just come without my boat, and just charter for a couple of days not the same as fishing from your own boat, but at least we would get away for a week on OL'ERIE just a thought for now?

Well the way I see it is the little wife has to get second job to pay for my gas or i'll be eating alot of raman noodles.......Most likely i'll be eating noodles lol but I really like the channel 84 but I don't think i'll be going to far from my dock and maybe doing more drifting than trolling any way about it im going to be on the water.
