Thread: How to troll on lake erie?

This time of year, 2-2.2 mph is good with hard baits. If you troll meat, slow it down to under 1.5.
Jets 30 or 40 do best. If you stack them start with 30s out 110ft and 40s out 80 ft or so. Exactly what depth they are is debateable, but play with it every 15 min or so. let more out and shorten close rods. Try to have your longer line rods pointed out the side. This will keep them from crossing in a turn. When you find a depth that works, quickly adjust other rods to that depth. What kind of boards do you have? I don't know how well an inline board handles a 40 jet. You might think of a deep diving crank from the boards. You should get 6-8 lines out at a time.
