Mazurik Launch??
I just joined this forum, but have read posts for the last couple of years. What a great group of fisherman/women! Especially Capt. Juls reports!!!! Thank you Capt.!!!
I have a question about Mazurik launch and proper launching procedure. I fish by myself sometimes and try to launch when it is not busy. But if it is busy, should I launch and tie my boat to the launch dock and go park my trailer or should I launch and take the boat to the other docks away from the launch and walk back to get my trailer that?s still in the water and then park? Either way takes time, but I want to be courteous to the other fishermen/women. I live 3-1/2 hours away and would like to start coming up to launch/fish earlier in the morning than I do now.
Also, is it okay to park in the grass, if parking lot is full as I see some people do? Do they ticket them?
Thanks for your help/suggestions!

Re: Mazurik Launch??
I think launching either way is fine. When coming off the water I would tie off at courtesy dock then get truck and trailer. That way if you have to wait in line you are not blocking a ramp. Not sure about parking on the grass.

Re: Mazurik Launch??
Last year at Mazuriks I asked a CO if it was okay to park in the grass. He told me that he couldn't guarantee that I wouldn't get a ticket but that if it was him he would park in the grass and go fishing! I didn't get a ticket by the way.

Re: Mazurik Launch??
My boat is just under 18' and when I launch mine solo, I move it all the way to the end, tie it off, and go park. That opens it up for someone else to put theirs in, rather than block the launch while I move to courtesy dock.

Re: Mazurik Launch??
as a person who has been launching for over 50 yrs. I always tried my best when launching or trailing my boat when alone not to hinder anyone else. With that said it sure has change in the last 20 yrs. with the ME generation.

Re: Mazurik Launch??
As Slick Willie said, just move it to the end of the dock and there will be enough room for someone to launch their boat. It would be best if you did that on an outside ramp, like the first one or the last one. The middle ones might block someone from launching if they can't get around you, due to another boat in there, too.
I've had to park on the grass before, (late start) and didn't get a ticket, and have seen tons of other boats do the same. I don't think you would get a ticket either.Captain Julia "Juls" Davis
