5/31 Evening Report

Fished NW of the island and had only 3 in the box after the first hour. Move to the SW side of the island in 26ft of water and caught our remaining 27. Started catching fish on the bottom at first but then they began to suspend. Ended up at a 6 count with weapons by the end of the evening. Gold and copper where best. 5 hours dock to dock. Caught 2 sheep head and about a dozen white perch as well.

Fished the same area today casting gold weapons and dragging bottom bouncers. Started at 730am finished at 1030am with a 3 man limit and 9 bonus yellow perch. Great day out on lake with overcast sky’s with just enough drift. We did better when we were in 29ft of water just northwest of west sister.

First trip to Erie in a a few years I fished NW of West Sister also on Wednesday and Thursday bite was steady we caught our limits both days trolling crawler harnesses anything green seemed to work best at 2 to 2.4mph nothing big just good eaters. The fish were suspended between 20 to 25 in 32fow. I was surprised only a few boats out in that area in years past there would have been hundreds of boats working that area. The good news was it made trolling easy not having to dodge boats!
