Prep&check your vessel before going offshore!
    -Boat
    -Motor
    -And Systems (b-pump, radio, ext)
    -Safety equipment
Complacency will get you out there!

-Have a compass to back up those electronics.

-Make a man over board plan, not every boat has a stern ladder. You only have a few minutes in cold water.

-Stay within your experience and the worthiness of your boat.

For the most part, you are on your own out there.

    Be Safe!!!

You and your buddies have been planning this trip for a while - they want to catch yellows. You get to the lake, and it looks nothing like the forecasts predicted. Its overcast, cold, 2-3's with building winds out of the E/ NE...

As difficult a decision as it may be, turn yourself around, get into your truck and go have some coffee and a nice breakfast... more times than not you'll be glad you did!
