Someone told me you can limit out on walleye just 4 miles north of Geneva so on 7/5 I ventured forth. 90 minutes wasted. Went out to the 42.00N and the 55 E/W line and trolled east in 3-4 ft waves and a 15 knot breeze. NOAA kept saying 1-2 ft and 5-10 kt W winds. At least they got the direction right. Before I got to the 50 E/W line I had 6 walleye weighing 35# all by myself.
Using "0" dipseys with a 5 ft lead, I used a Blueberry Muffin harness and a Colorado gold harness made by yours truly back 250-290 ft at 1.8-2.2 mph varied greatly by wave surges. Awesome day. Too bad my friends had to work or were otherwise occupied.
Tomorrow is Saturday and with or without company I will be out there because I never met a walleye I didn't like (to eat). Try me on Ch.68 if you want to talk. I'm more than happy to share.
P.S. It took exactly one hour to pound thru those "1-2 ft" waves back to the park. The moral of this whole article is don't believe everything you hear.
