I also run a 16' Deep Vee (16.25 Lund Rebel) You will want to keep an eye on the weather of course, and also might want to have a back up plan in case of higher winds/waves. I've found that I usually plan on hitting Sandusky/Muddy Creek bays for channel cats, and if the weather happens to be very nice, I can always switch my plans and put in at Mazuricks to head out around the islands. I always make sure that I have a good quantity of flares, and am planning on getting at least a portable radio to carry along in case of emergencies.
