Thanks for clarifying that the head boats only had captain and small crew.I would consider that safer than letting general public join you.Hey island troller, saw ur post on OGF about that huge muskie you caught today, that trashed your net and got away.Wow,that must have been exciting.Have heard of guys landing 30" muskie but you said yours was about 50".To bad you didn't land it and get picture.

Default April 22nd, 2020 3 more walleye and no perch

started nw of Lakefront Marina, 17 fow, no takers and water was stained.
went to Round Reef, 19 fow, netted 3 keepers and lost one at the boat.
several hook ups but they got off`!
using the bright green jig tipped with a shiner.
dragging the spreader with shiners, one bite but did not hook up.
water is colder now then it was a week ago.
cold day on the lake, light breeze and was getting some snow.
back at it soon, weather permitting.
    be safe

Default One more sheep head~! Wednesday May 13th 2020

H can area again, one sheep head using a gold erie deerie with night crawler.
Spreader tipped with golden shiners did not produce.
G can area, dropped the anchor to see if I could catch any perch, no bites.
Not as windy in the am today, I think we need some warm weather to get the bite going again.

Default May Fly Soop , BRING YOUR SPOON

I have been out west of Rattle Snake Island, and F can area, and have never seen so many shorts~ ever!
And have caught some nice catfish and many sheep head.
And now we have the May Fly Soup~! Healthy lake, so they say.
Bring plenty of night crawlers if you drift, the white perch love them too!
Spreader has not produced on yellow perch lately.
Back at it soon, when the soup is done.

Fishing the afternoon (1-4 pm), started NW of Lakefront Marina in 17 fow.
No takers in the two drifts, so moved to Clinton Reef in 19 fow.
Caught one sheep head, and managed 5 keeper walleye with one throw back (see photo).
Using the bright green jig tipped with a shiner.
Had 4 hook ups then they were off~!
Spreader did not catch anything`! Using shiners and dragging just off the bottom.

    One sheep head today!
Fished NW of Lakefront, east, west and south of "H" can.
Wind was moving the dog .8 to 1.2 mph.
Water was colder than the last time I was out by about 2 degrees.
Using night crawlers and a gold erie dearie and a spreader tipped with night crawlers.
Will watch the wind and try again soon.

Thank you Water Dog for your reports.
I fished South area of Clinton reef last weekend. One time I noticed we went over what appeared to be a school of perch. A few minutes later my friend brought in a 12 inch perch. I'm going to try dragging a spreader like you do for a while also.
