Sunday July 29th bigest perch limit ever
A milestone for the Water Dog today south of G can.
30 Yellow hogs and 14 pounds at the cleaners~! WOW
Spreaders, golden shiners, no bling and that very light bite.
I have never seen such large perch consistently in one area before.
In 2016 I did well , but the size this year is amazing.
Many boats were in the area and 3 hours and done.
Several throw backs and some sheep head.
On the way in 2 head boats were off camp perry in 12 fow , stopped and picked up a short walleye (returned unharmed) and several sheep head.
got them on a gold erie deerie with a crawler.
Hope you all have been getting yours too!

That Water Dog is one good perch fisherman! We struggled to not even half a 4 man limit yesterday, as did several I talked to at the cleaners.
So tell us your secret...do you have some structure marked... a good rock pile, hole, drop off or something you go back to each time?
As always, thank for your reports and pictures. Enjoy reading your success.

tips and tricks
Here is an email response I sent to another member of this site;
I am usually, always south of G can in 20 fow. I look for the green blotches that appear on my fish finder. Let your engine idle for the first fish. Using golden shiners, run the hook through the gut then hook them so they can move around. Once they get under your boat you can run the hook from head to fin. Watch the bite, they are great at taking even the best hooked bait. Bite slows or stops, run your engine again, but not long. I have not had to move much this year. It seems the fish find me using the techniques I have noted.
I find that they run in streaks almost all of the time.
~good luck~ hope this helps.

G can stuggles ~ yellow perch where did they go?
Friday & Monday marks
(those green blotches usually mark some good fishing)
South of G can has not been producing like it has been. Could be those storms that moved through the area.
Out several times and could only manage 8 yellow perch and 14 the next trip.
I think the weather may have been a factor, and I plan to try H can the next time out.
D can is an option too. Word at the docks is everyone is trying to find the fish.
Have been catching some small yellow perch, sheep head and some young walleye (returned unharmed).
Good to see those young fish.
