May 23rd 2020 very foggy am
Went back to Clinton Reef area this am, and it was very foggy for most of the morning.
3 walleye, one was big enough 15 1/2 inches and the other two were too small to keep, they all went back unharmed.
2 of the walleyes were caught on the spreader with the worm and 1 walleye using a purple worm harness.
3 sheep head , 1 white perch and 1 yellow perch, all on the spreader and worms.
I did not have any golden shiners today.
Did not go to the islands today due to the foggy conditions.
Many boats were out and about ~! The start of summer is here.
be safe,
back soon

Friday May 22nd 2020
Fished the "Clinton Reef" area today, 2 walleye, one white perch, and a bonus gobie.
All the walleye were throw backs to grow up and they were caught on my spreader , one took the night crawler and the other the golden shiner.
The Jet Express was running today~!
Plenty of trollers working the area and a some drifters.
I had one hook up with my gold erie deerie, but could not land it, one of those hits that are there and then gone.
I plan to head further north the next trip weather permitting.
Hope you can get out this weekend and if you do,
Be safe.

Fantastic bite this morning 1 mile south of g can. Dropped anchor at 7 and lifted it at 8:15. I probably threw back 15 attempting to get a few bigger ones. I tried fishing with 2 poles at first but quickly gave up on that. Sometimes they were already hooked by the time I lifted off the bottom. Fingers crossed they stick around this year.

OK Water Dog you were right as I was wrong. I seen 2 head boats going out today with obviously a couple crew members and no customers. I earlier stated was probably net boats.

fish finder marks
when I head out to any honey hole, I look for marks just off the bottom (green blotches on my fish finder), the more the better, once noted I drop anchor and let the boat motor run for say 5-10 minutes, just a hey come get some call.
these perch are full of young fish, gobies from what I see in the "puke floor" of my boat.
lately, the goldens are hard to come by, all the bait shops were over whelmed by the demand given the "hot yellow gold" bite.
Anyway, back at it soon

August 8th G can and 30 more yellow perch
SE of G can again, 2.5 hours today, caught 6 sheep head, 8 white perch and one 8 inch walleye ( released to come back bigger )
the yellow perch are feeding on small gobie's , so says the puke floor on my boat.
using golden's shiners, spreaders and never any bling.
8 pounds at the cleaners and the cleaners have been real busy lately and that is good for you all that like to eat yellow perch~!
many boats in the area and there were 6 boats within 300 yards of my honey hole.
Come get yours and anywhere around G can seems to be doing great~!
My advice on the bait , is 2 good scoops per person.
You can also cut up a white perch in strips if you get short on your bait.
Sundays weather looks good for now.
And these are the days that are good to bring your kids , calm weather and when these yellow perch bite they are fun for any age.
