Sandusky River Walleyes
Where do the run of walleyes that exit the Sandusky river migrate to? Are these the fish that end up around Kelleys island early or do they go elsewhere?

Sandusky River spawn walleye territory
ODNR has done several studies on both the Maumee and Sandusky river walleye spawning populations (Sandusky River emphasis lately). I will refresh my memory by checking the studies again, but if I remember correctly, the popularions don't really have a small "home range." Tagged Maumee River walleye showed up all over the Western Basin and as far north as the Detroit River. The issue here is being able to track enough fish to get a true representable sample. Some fish probably stay in Sandusky Bay or the nearby Lake Erie waters, some probably venture out further into the Lake, and some may travel much farther throughout the year. If I get time I'll check on the studies from ODNR, I've been meaning to update myself on the research for several yeras.
