Generally speaking, the closer the water temperature gets to 42 degrees, the closer the walleye stay to the main reefs spawning grounds (off Winld Wings and Crane Creek / Davis Besse) and other spawning grounds. There are probably a few spawning areas around the western shoreline, closer to Turtle Island, but the majority of walleye in the western basin spawn on or near the main reef complex. Therefore, walleye fishing will probably be better around the main reef complex now through most of April.
