Hey LD,

I am by no means an expert compared to many on this site. But...I'm not busy right now so I am happy to share my opinion and a little data to support it.

10# Berkley XT diameter = .014"
12# Sunline says .011"

The average human hair is .004 inches thick so you're pretty close.

Technically you'll run a tiny bit deeper. However, at depths like you are referencing at 20 feet down this will be negligible and irrelevant IMO. Likely even down to 30 feet or more.

Walleyes generally feed up. I assume many folks on here would agree to generally try and run your baits 1-3 feet above the fish. In warmer waters when they are more aggressive some say the fish can easily strike a bait 5-6 feet above them as it passes by. Makes sense to me as a 24 inch fish could do that easily with a couple quick swipes if their tail.

For your line, i would compensate a little if I were fishing 50-70 feet down in the Central Basin. For the western basin you could consider shortening your leads maybe 5 feet from that app numbers but not sure it'll matter if you are already planning to be a couple feet above them.

I enjoy the off-season chatter and.certainly welcome more opinions from some of the others here. Many have WAY more experience than I do.

Hope we can get out in March this year!
