Casting For Walleye 7/8
I haven’t been fishing in a while and thought with the good forecast I would give it a go. A buddy and I headed east from wild wings around 6:30. We slowed before we got to the pack fishing east of G can and started marking some fish. We fished that area until 12:00 and ended up with 10 keepers. We also caught at least 20 shorts. We were using harnesses with 3/4 ounce egg sinkers. Best color was white with chartreuse and #4 Colorado blade either gold fish scale or gold wavy. Water depth was 22 to 23 feet. If we got deeper, the white perch were thick. I scaled a couple bigger ones and kept them whole to cook on the grill. I marinate them in a little soy sauce and honey and cut slits into the skin to let the marinade work into the meat. Makes a very tasty meal.
