I talked John into trying to find some fish around Pelee today.June 20th.We headed to the west side where we had done well in the past trolling harnesses.Had inline boards with tadpoles on one side and TT 40 on the other. After about 45 min of no marks or bites decided to run to the east side of the island.Found a pack of casters and good marks. There were alot of mayfly pods floating in water and started fouling the lines after a while.Could see the bugs on sonar and the fish up high eating them but could only catch 4 fish by 10 am.John said let's make a run east along the line.So we took off and eventually saw small pack on horizon. When got there saw a small group of charters casting.Saw alot of bugs on the sonar with fish at 20 ft eating those bugs. But there were no mayfly junk floating so set rods to try and catch those high fish.Initially there were no marks deep, but eventually saw a few near the bottom in 43 fow. After having no luck catching the high fish put 2 dipseys down deeper. Finally caught a good fish on the deeper rod.Changed out the other rods to also run deep and started catching pretty quick.Got the remaining 8 fish in 75 min and they were better fish too.Had 4 dipseys running with 1 setting at 60 lead with a gold J9.The 3 setting at 75 lead had a monkey puke spoon harness.Speed 2.3-2.5 mph.Our 12 fish weighed 28 lbs.Was a couple miles north of line and several miles west of weather bouy.
