After the blow!
Heading out tomorrow morning. I don’t have a lot of hope, but I’m here. With the east wind I’m going to fish the triangle, and use middle bass to block the residual waves. When I came up yesterday there were a lot of boats out between green, and south bass. They had boards out, and the nets were being used. As long as the wind dies like it’s supposed to I’ll probably head out early, to grab some minnows, then try for some eyes as the sun comes up. If that’s no good I’ll perch a bit. Next week it’s on!! Last year I fished 12 days in May, and was off the water every day by 10:00 with a limit.

Re: After the blow!
Heavy fog early this morning kept me off the water until 6:00am. Better than expected. Fished between rattlesnake, and middle bass. First boat out this morning. Pulling bandits with 2oz weights 50+20-40 perch & blue chrome were the favorites. Steady hits. 1 double up. Caught 10. All 20-23” totally shut off by 8:30. Probably 50 boats in our area by then. Didn’t see many others working nets. We went in at 9:00. Back next week!

Re: After the blow!
lol! Thanks, but it didn’t count as a limit since I had my daughter with me, so needed 12. I don’t care since I really didn’t think I would catch much at all. Early was the key for me today. If it wasn’t so foggy early I would have went out at 4:00am. Good luck everyone. I’m calling the spawn done. Absolutely switching to crawler harnesses in the next couple weeks. Should be slamming until late June!

Re: After the blow!
BTW we started out with weights on 1 side, and unassisted 70-100 back on the other. Only caught 1 on the shallow side today. Started adding weights to unassisted side as the day progressed

Hey island Troller. If starting to catch with harnesses, what speed you going?

Re: After the blow!
How do you rig crawler harnesses for trolling? Do you use bottom bouncers?

Re: After the blow!
I use inline weights with a 24" lead. Trolling much slower. 1 to 1.5 .
