Jigging Trip
Yesterday I had a chance to take a buddy and two of his retired Air Force colleagues out fishing. We headed to Locust Reef. The water was pretty stained still but the electronics were showing lots of fish. We started on the southeast side drifting towards the top of the reef. Started in 17 feet of water. Got 6 on our first drift so repeated. The wind started shifting and picking up during the next drift but we got 8 more so feeling good with 14 in the box in an hour. Our drift speed was .4 to .5 mph but increased quickly to .8 to 1.0 mph and we only got 3 more in the next hour and a half.
Dark purple was best in 3/4 ounce.

Re: Jigging Trip
As a follow up, I would have liked to put my wind sock out when the wind picked up but I had two guys fishing on the downwind side and didn’t want to make it more complicated for them.
