Inline planer board rods
What’s everyone using for in line planer boards. I use medium light okumas for big boards. Think I need a little more backbone?

Re: Inline planer board rods
I am using the Daiwa Wilderness rods and have been very pleased. I like the 8 foot medium heavy, but I know some guys like the medium just for a little more action and fun when pulling in the fish. You really can't beat the price, they range from $20 to $30 depending where you purchase. I go cheap on the rods and mid to upper grade on the line counter reels.

Your Okumas will work good. I've used them and I use Eagle Claw Starfire's in medium light.

Re: Inline planer board rods
I use the exact same rods as Lynn for my inline boards and like them just fine.Agree that save costs or rods to get better reels

Re: Inline planer board rods
Any planer board rod will be fine. The key is to use the same rods and do not mix and match. You'll never be able to read the rod tips and boards with a mix of rods.
