Re: Tough day
Went out for a few hours this afternoon. Launched at Catawba, hoping for less chocolate milk there. Water over there was perfectly clear all the way to G can. There, it started to get a little murkier but not bad. Stopped there and jigged a little but it seemed too deep to me, and too soft on the bottom. No boats there. Kept headng west, stopping and testing the jig bite as we went. Ended up at Round Reef. Had several bites there and caught one on black wih purple hair. It was full of color, unlike the bleached out ghosts we caught 4 days ago.
We trolled from Round towards the north-east for an hour. Marked very few. No bites - or so we thought. Pulled in our lines to go home and had been dragging one. But lost it at the boat.
A few dozen boats always in site this afternoon. Only a few small, loose packs of 6 - 8 boats. Most were loners spread out in every direction. I think we would have done better with more time. Way better water than 4 days ago.
