i did the ice fishing thing many yrs ago. but we had a few mild winters that we didn't have much ice. so i didn't go fishing. then when we started getting good ice i just kept putting it off. then after awhile of saying I'm going to go i just gave it up all together. now that I'm older i hate the cold and snow starting right after our muzzleloader season and Christmas. then I'm ready for spring and warm weather.

i did catch my 1st walleye through the ice on our local lake. took it to the bait shop and it weighed 9 1/2 lbs and was 29 1/2" long. and was my largest for many yrs until i started fishing the central basin of erie. i had never fished for eyes until i caught my first. then i started fishing dale hollow every spring. then made my first trip to the western basin and was hooked bad.
