Also going for smallies Sept 15--I heard off of Ruggles Beach is good. Any thoughts, and any eyes in that area a few miles out over sand bar??

September is a great time of the year for smallies; I usually fish the islands with crank baits and do very well. The later in the month the better, but then the weather can change on a dime. Those that go to Pelee do very well consistently. Good Luck
