Has anyone been out and tried the shallow water shuffle yet ? Just wondering if they have been coming into the shallows yet ?

Are you talking a good bite during the day or at night off the golf course? Thanks

Eyes should be spawning now. If you fish during the day, fish the first drop off from the spawning flats. You can also try 30 fow right off the slag piles. I would use smaller jigs tipped with a minnow. Slow small bounces is they key.

So, first, my report. Trolled off the golf course out of Dunkirk last sunday night. Marked fish in 25 to 30 feet of water and hit them with harnesses off the boards 130 feet back and reef runners/Long A's on the lead core 1.8 to 2.2 mph. Fished from 7 pm to 12 midnight. No takers. Saw other boats in shallower with a couple in where I was.

Has been a rough first year of learning lake erie's eastern basin. Sad to say I've yet to boat a legal eye. Have all the gear and none of the no how. Have learned that most walleye fisherman can be pretty tight lipped on tips so was glad to find this forum.

Off to the west coast next week then back for more. If anyone has any pointers they'd like to share, I'm all ears. Humbling!!!
