Yeah I remember that. Lots of gobies though. When I troll the wall at night I start I like to start before mid gap. Providing there's no idiots anchored in it. Then run the wall to the north gap. Last yr I did good from north gap to halfway down the wall. Also from end of donnellys wall towards the round house. By mid June the day troll from the departure buoy to Seneca shoal will be a good run. Lineman was it you that had a Muskie chase up a fish at south gap last yr?
you guys got the spots/ good fishing everyone
Yes the muskie chased the perch & jumped about a ft. out of the water.
I hope today is an indication on how the year is going to be, the 2 oldest boys 6 and 7,woke me up at 5 to go fishing they limited out by 10, they reeled in every fish
that's awesome
Woo hoo!!!!! Now if Bailey can keep is vessel afloat. We'll see how he did. I'm workin on my boat now. Said to hell with others projects for now.
It was definitely cool to see their faces on the 27 in it took both of them to hold the pole
Well last night weather looked iffy but got up checked radar and storm headed our way broke up. Got to sbh at about 730 and off we went, i set rods i had top side then opened deck chest to find lots of h20 so packed up ran in slow. Found that my tub to transom seal had come open a bit screws loosened and hence water problem. So quick thought a call to capt joe for directions and i was off. Thanks joe great help today. Got some quick fix supplies from home depot back to sbh. Did my magic and back in we went to only forget plug lol so a quick call for trailer back up the ramp drained boat relaunched and off. Set up in 30 fow and pop goes rigger then dipsy then lead core 6 colors. Lots of short hits a few lost fish but from noon to 3 managed 7 from 16 to 26 inches. I may have open seat mext weekend show starts around 7 am ha ha. Oh yeah 6 trips out this yr no prob till i troll eyes go figure.
Bailey, sounds like a great day of fishing after a few small problems. "Just a hole in the water to throw money into."
Hey lineman lake was to perfect today the chop was spot on wind sucked a little but i wasn't heading home. Adapt and overcome just wish it would've happened perch fishing instead my, as close as i can say christmas morning lol. It keeps it interesting though. I will say it's game on good luck all.
Fishkiller how's that sleeping on the boat tonight workin for ya lol it's a little unfriendly your way i see. Lol
I slept like a baby. I love sleeping during thunderstorms.:D
That was some wild weather yesterday and last night. I always fall asleep counting the seconds between the lightning flash and the thunder. I'm gonna try n get out today. Edit: hmm small craft advisers today. Wind doesn't seem bad at my house. Anyone out or by the lake?
I live just off hamburg beach, it's pretty windy, haven't been by the lake though
Almost got up to try the so.gap thing this Am. but looked like more rain coming so stayed in bed. Maybe later.
The wind is blowing but waves don't look that bad. I'm in Angola looking at the lake. Small craft warnings are posted.
It's white capping now. Their all over the place. They are small but numerous. And building.
Well I ran the boat on the trailer. Was gonna go to the river but decided not to. I hate when the weather man is right. Lol
what a crappy weekend
The WINDSURFERS Love me, and the kite flyers or what ever you call those guys that use the kites to try to knock out fish. ;)
before you mount it cut a second notch so the plate does a 45 degree angle. all are designed to do 90 degrees. I did this with my 50 hp Merc and that 45 degree works better than the 90. Its easlier to do it before mounting.
No capt joe needs 70 hr work weeks so the weather is nice for fishing for the rest of us. LOL jk but i agree you have to enjoy it while you can get out and when board get a job as walmart greeter where you can selectively place smiley faced stickers at will lol
He could be a Cabela's greeter......lol:eek:
The good guys won today 12-2. We beat the undefeated team. We ten run ruled them in six innings. They cloubered us the first time we played them. The quest continues.:D
I'm in for career change. I haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up.
Joe you can't be a toys r us kid forever ya know lol. Also leak fixed and ready to put a hurtin on some eyes once again. Thanks again joe for local info on sat.
Guys,
New to Lake Erie. Most of my experience is with Salmon on Lake Michigan. Wondering if you guys have some advice on where to start. Its a big lake and any help is appreciated.

capt joe congrats on the game
Milt where were you fishing?
I was drifting in 37-45 fow from senca shoul bouy to the about first windmill I was drifting .08 to1.2 then I went to the south gap one guy had a nice eye going out tomorrow morning to try again I could use some tips if anybody has any I don't know what im doing wrong I change speeds lures depths or is that walleye fishing thx
I spent the morning (6:30 AM to Noon) bottom bouncing in front of Smokes Creek/Windmill area. Boated 5 Walleyes and 2 Perch. Water was off color from recent rain/wind and wind was out of the North. Nice drift early but by midday it was too slow for my liking. The fish were in the off color water and I used Chartreuse harnesses for a little more visibility. 37 fow was my best depth but I did get 2 between 35 fow and 36 fow. Surface water temp. 62*.
Dennis
Fished in front of smokes ck. bottom bounced got 13 eyes & 3 perch. We dropped 5-6.eyes? ?, 30 - 37 fow. Chartreus & orange / single blade harnesses. Drifted in the Am & slow trolled .8 -1.1 mph in Pm.
Most likely Sturgeon Point, but can trailer to almost anyplace. Based on todays post it sounds like worm harnesses, but we have a lot of luck in WI slow trolling flicker shads year round. Do those work here at all? Could also do a ride along if you need some help or extra lines....i would pick up gas. Spent 10 years fishing lake michigan and it took 5 to figure it out, would like to quicken the learning curve.
Milt, I might sneak out tomorrow myself. I have a white n blue crestliner. I'm gonna do the smokes creek drift/troll. Gonna try bouncing some jigs on the bottom as well as bottom bounce harnesses. I won't be out til after work. Probably gonna be busy on the water tomorrow evening. Since guns n roses are playing the outer harbor.
