Any reports from barcelona? Thinking of making the trip from buffalo
Wow that's it :)
thinking of heading out on Saturday. Where you guys recommend is a good place to start, out of SBH, SP, Catt, or Dunkirk? Thanks
Tony
Pick one close and go with it. Fish are scattered everywhere. East of port Colburn has consistently producing good fish.
What depth has been good out of Pt. C?
45ft east of the port last I heard for day bite
Tried out of Dunkirk today. Cloudy water out to about 40 ft, clear from 40 ft out to 65.... then a slew of debris. Wood, junk, leaves, weeds, you name it. Was spread over a very large swath, right at the depth I was targeting... really challenging to troll. Most boats I saw trying to troll quit around 930 or 10am. Has anyone been out of Sturgeon? Wondering how the conditions are up there for friday?
Thanks for the report HR, but did and how many fish did you mark? Were they on the bottom or a certain depth in the column?
marked a lot of small fish from 10-30 feet in 65 fow. Likely white bass as I caught three of them before I quit. A couple of larger marks at 55 to 60 feet in 65 fow but few and far between. I ran a dipsy down there but no takers on a purple black renosky.
Now that's good info! Thanks HR:)
Probably not until next wk. I will call you lineman when I get out of work.
I went out of Sturgeon Point yesterday. There was a lot of muddy, dirty water and floating debris. We found clear water about 5 miles out a little west of Pt. Albino. We trolled west, south, east. saw some fish on the graph at all depths but could only catch 3 silver bass. A terrible day on the lake. Many others were saying how bad the fishing was. All that I heard about was one here and one there. :(
I launched out of Sturgeon at 6 AM. Went straight out to 50 feet marked a ton of fish in between 60 and 70 feet. Ran riggers, dipseys and 4 and 5 color. Caught two eyes, two silvers and a perch.
One eye on 4 color and the other on 5. Did not get another bite after 12. Quit at 1.
It will be clearer. But how much?? A lot depends on how the wind blows today. My thought is " anytime you can get out is good ".
Fished out of the Catt today(6/19). out to 60-70 fow then went west. 2 footers to start got up to 4 footers.(rough ride) Got 2 eyes(5-6#'s) in the boat & loss 2 at the net. Fish caught on 5 colors & 20 jets. Settled down in the PM. 1-2 footers.
Also caught 1 x-mas tree & 1 oak limb 8' long.
Good report lineman49. Not for nothin but, what depth and bait were using to catch that Xmas tree :)
Launched yesterday evening from the SBH, and had the ramps pretty much to myself. It was a beautiful night, just light winds and pretty much calm! Fished behind the windmills and got two, 22 and 17 inches so on the smaller end but good eating size. I expected them to be out deeper, but when I found them they were from 26-28 fow just off structure. Watermelon was the ticket. Ended with a kicker 20" smallmouth to finish the night which I let go after snapping a few pics. Happy Father's Day tomorrow to all you fellow Dads out there, and good luck to anyone fishing this weekend!
Heading out for first trip in AM. Hope weather cooperates, post report in afternoon happy fathers day to the rest of the dads on here!
I went out yesterday ( Sat. ) started out along the line between SP & Pt. Albino. Trolled east. Saw some fish on the graph but not a lot. Eventually picked up 5 silver bass and two walleye. On walleye came odd a 30 jet and weighed 9 lbs. Why couldn't I catch that a week earlier for the tournament. The other a smaller one came of a 3 color lead core.
Fog fog fog! Tough morning for us, had motor issues on both motors, managed two 15" and one 7#, windmills 34' green was ticket on harness, no takers on sticks. Few sheep n silver's too. Great start to fathers day either way
None of my business & jmo. but if you had trouble with 2 motors , it sounds like you may have a gas/fuel/water problem. Maybe check for water in gas tank , change filters, &/or gas/water separator filter. Also put some K-100 in tank. might help. Just a suggestion. Good luck!
Went out yesterday evening with the old man, a little slow but managed a couple. about 20' down in upper 30's out past the windmills, 2 eyes landed (17/27.5"), lost another, 8 silvers. Eyes on perch color sticks, silvers equal on sticks and harnesses. Heard at the dock some better concentrations of fish close to the walls? I personally have not had luck there, but this is only my second year.
What does the k-100 do? I am currently having fuel issues also. She starts/runs great in the driveway, but when fired at the dock it putters out. Last 2 times this happened. After a bunch of fiddling, got her fired again both times and got into the throttle a bit, then no issues. Currently trying to figure it out.
Ouch lol. Off topic it doesn't get hot yet does and is it a closed loop system for cooling? I would rebuild carbs and swap out fuel lines ethanol will eat those up in that yr for sure.
K-100 is a gas additive that boost up octane & it will burn any water in the system. I have been using it a few years now & it works great . Also what Bailey said .
K 100 is great stuff. Made locally in Tonawanda. The original formula was designed for use in heating oil tanks for controlling water problems. It was later devil oped for gasoline use. Their motor is "we make water burn" . They are the real deal to the water problems, ethanol separation problems, as well as a fuel stabilizer. Over the years we have tried out its use in various surcumstances and it has prevallaled. Cleaning out clogged jets, stabilizING fuel, ridding water in bottoms of tanks. Preventing corrosion in tanks and lines! It can be had in a couple different formulas.
Hit Dunkirk Saturday morning. Lots of boats out and inconsiderate people at the launch, while getting my boat ready three people with boats pull right up to the launch and park to get their stuff ready. One guy took forever blocking all launches. Then right before I pulled into line another guy comes up and gets in line. The guy blocking all lanes takes forever then the guy who pulled in right before me takes his time to get his boat ready. Meanwhile I am waiting my turn with my boat ready. Forgot it was the start of bass season so the knuckleheads are out now.
Got out there were a bunch of boats right outside the harbor trolling, so got setup and started but didn't see much action besides silver bass. Went to a waypoint from previous trips at 60-65 ft and the fish were still there. Tried trolling that depth but the fish were tight to one spot so just started going back and forth, got 5 nice eyes then it started looking like rain and was getting choppier, plus all the other boats started working around us. Fish came on leadcore on harnesses and a jointed rapala. So said screw it and headed in to more ramp shenanigans. This time a guy was dropping off someone to grab his truck but wanted to drop his other guy off at the other dock to help some people, but he was blocking all the docks right as I was about to come into dock. Guess I better get used to it as summer has started.
Last year at SBH, we pulled in about 530am and got the boat ready in the A lot like some People do. After we were ready my buddy walks to the ramp as I drive to the launch area wear there two boats getting ready (inconsiderate). I pull to one side, get lined up and back in the only open ramp lined up with one of those a-holes. As I'm backing this guy starts flipping out as I ignore and launch. Pulling out of ramp area he's still yelling. I Park and head to the ramp slip as this guy still giving me the business, meanwhile his buddy still tying lines on and stuff. I explained to him as I got right his grill because my patience tank was empty by now, that he and his buddy still aren't ready and they were inconsiderate. BE READY TO LAUNCH BEFORE YOU ENTER THE LAUNCH AREA!!!!
I think we have all run into these kinds . I refer to them as Weekenders(not all), rookies, dumb a$$es, inconsiderate a-holes. I had one at Honeyeye lk. once pulled past 3 guys waiting in line, backed into the launch & then started to load the boat with coolers, water skies, etc. he had nothing ready at all! It took him like 10 min. & the rest of us were already to go. I don't understand why people don't get already in the parking lot, back into launch, get the boat off , park the truck & leave the dock! Same thing coming out, pull into the dock move forward (long dock) if possible so another boat can use the dock instead of everyone jockying around in the harbor. Then we get the guys that pull out of the water 5' & tie the boat down at the launch. Geeeeeeze! lol rant over!
i second the motion
Those people are called Googans!
that's why I put my boat in a slip this year got sick of the stupid people im much happier this year (says my wife)lol
Be very careful with K 100. The reason they make water burn is with alcohol. Alcohol makes a lot of heat and can seize engines as my friend can attest. His diesel ford tractor was ruined after consistent use of K100. The mechanic that tore it apart to fix it still has the seized parts on the shelf to show others that have been using K100.
