Yea, pull all the docks & block all the ramps so the public(taxpayers/all summer long launch fee payers) can't use their natural great lakes resources until they maybe freeze over & then may not have access to use them then either! What BS!:mad: Sorry guys this is a pet peave of mine, it just ticks me off that we are stopped from useing our natural resources which belong to all of us. Another is why things close up the day after Labor day, whats up with that? Even the restrooms get closed up, I guess no one needs to Go after labor day either! I guess we can't be trusted on our own, :rolleyes: but thats another story.

Before they d-e-v-e-l-o-p-e-d Gallagher beach people were there launching jet skies, canoeing, windsurfing etc. Then the politicians (NFTA) got involved. There were people launching for free. And enjoying the facilities. Right down the road there was the Small Boat harbor seeing this. They weren't getting their cut. They said " hay were going to develop this and make people PAY to use the facilities. Hence we have what we have. NY politics.
you guys are right its a bunch of bs i hate it those ramps should be left in till first ice i thought we pay taxes,launch fee ,and alot of money for our licenses the nfta is the worst couple a years ago they made them keep the ramps in at sbh nfta want it shut down on oct 15th (no launching) now they stay in till dec 1st

same thing with Erie basin ramp ,closed up & blocked off, that could be open to fish the river all winter or until the marina freezes up ,it all s*@ks imo!

FYI. The SBH launch has no docks in but they are not blocking it off so you can launch just won,t have a dock. Also the ice boom is in so don,t run into it at night. The harbor was full of surfaceing minnows on the way in last night at 10pm.

It's only freaky at night under the bridge. But there's also plenty of good fishing in the river.

they are older. When i connect them to the battery, they don't do anything. I checked the plug for power and it shows full power. 1 of my downriggers work for maybe 3 or 4 drops in the water the i would have to manually bring it up.
Try pulling side cover off and test switches with meter to make sure they are working correctly. Could be bearings a little gummed up once side panel removed they are not that intimidating to take apart and replace looks like a power window motor inside. Bet online is diagram. I am replacing my switches with on/ off / on switch to eliminate the momentary on for lowering. I will be going thru mine soon if in no rush i'll tell ya how bad it is reach bearings soon.Quote:

The up/ down switch could be bad. It could be losing power/ continuity from time to time. My neighbors went bad that way.

Not sure about connons but on my older big johns the copper contact in /under the rocker switch burned out & I just reversed it (end for end,side for side) & it worked, Been good for a few yrs. now. Something to look at.
I believe that i saw TWO boats out yesterday at the mouth of the Niagra River by Donley's wall. I was going over the Skyway at about 2:00 pm. I was driving and could not look real good. It was a good afternoon. Was anyone out from this site? How did you do?
i went out this morning and got shunked it was good to get out i was bass fishing one other boat out there
Haven,t been out fishing lately but might have to now that deer season is over & if the weather stays nice. Would like to go perching.
Hopefully now deer seasons over I can get bailey out trout fishing lol.

Perch and eyes it's been on fire there for weeks now . The eyes run around 19" and perch are monster sized. I have good leads and friends fishing it. So i can be put on fish no problem. It's been the best yr there in yrs.
Yup, saw a picture yesterday of perch and eyes. In fact I call the eye a bass it was so fat. The perch all look deformed they're so fat.Quote:
