Preventitive maint. great idea, some guys don't !! ( my brother) Anyone catching any eyes??
Today winds WSW @ 16 mph => waves at 3.2' trough to crest (on average).
Biggest waves are when winds are fro W or SW. The other day I was out in 5 foot waves and now my boat leaks like a sieve. Constant sponge work. Any breaks in the wind coming up ?
Saturday morning, out of smb we boated 5 loss 3 at the back of the boat 2 of them were about 8-10lbs and another about 4lbs. Last night picked up 1 eye, waves prevented me from getting out planer boards out. Weather for Friday looks good.
Milt - sorry to say we bit the bullet Mon. Night. I wasn't sharp, many playing out of position. A recipe for disaster. Regroup and start again. Sorry to day i haven't been out and i have to work the weekend. Fishon when i grow up i want to be like you - Retired and able to get out there when the wind lets you. Good luck to everyone in the 444 and have a good picnic on Sat. I'll get there when i can.
I will be traveling to Angola for some vacation and I am looking for any advice on the Walleye. I have read the posts for the last few pages, but was wondering if anyone has advice for this weekend. I would be Happy to trade info on Salmon in lake Michigan. Have not fished Lake Erie for 4 years and really dont know where to start. Sounds like they are scattered?
I'll be out tomorrow around meyers area give me a call on the radio ill be on the water by 730- 800am good luck everyone.
Milt, at night out of sbh I usually troll sticks through mid gap north on wall to the end. Then over to donnleys wall. I make the turn about 100yds from the end and head towards the left side of the roundhouse. The current between there will swing your lines way into shallower water for awhile. Then when I'm almost to the roundhouse I head to the back side of the outer wall. Then back over along the main wall and through the gap again. Or you can try drifting and casting or jigging the far outer wall point with the green light on it. Just make sure whatever you use. Trolling casting or jigging you tip with half a worm. It really makes the difference. I caught an eye in 25fow in the channel last week jigging do they're at all depths.
Good luck everyone. I won't make it out at all this weekend I don't think. Have my little sisters wedding. And most of this week I had the stomach bug and have been laid up in bed. I'm going through fishing withdraws I think already. Lol
copo thanks for the info if i get out i will post how i did

slooooo day for us... marked lots of fish and bait....one 6-pound fish out of SBH in 45 fow on the fence. blk/pink hatchet 1.8 mph down speed, 30ft down on rigger 30ft off the ball
hope all the 444 teams faired better
Dropped 4 landed 5 out of small boat harbor got my a$$ handed to me by fishkiller. Great job.
All harnesses, blk & watermelon, watermelon & copper, blue & silver, 3d nuc green. Shark Torpedo Diver (4oz) 70 back, 7 color lead, 5 color lead, 30 jets 150 back all on big boards 52-60 fow. Im just not gving my exact location but we did go out of SBH and went west. Eh.
Sounds like the fish are finally schooling up, with the numbers you guys are getting. Last year it was mid July when they were at 60 out of sbh.
Took my buddy and his wife and kids out for the last day of free fishing. Tried drifting the the south gap inside but there was no wind, so there was no drift. Damn gobys clean the harnesses off faster than you can bait them. So I set the kids up trolling jointed sticks. From donnellys to the round house. ( where chuck Norris lives by the way. lol). Hit 2 bass and 2 smaller eyes (17 and 18). But the kids were excited and had fun. So that's all that matters. Lots of small fish this year around the walls and such. I don't ever remember having to question the length of eyes night trolling. They were always 22-26.
Milt, sorry I haven't checked the board all week, but worm harness-watermelon is the hottest, also Renowski-tigerfire. Under 35fow using dipsys and 20 jets on boards. This Saturday picked up 6 eyes in 3 hours, took an hour to find them, started at 7am quit at 10am. My son and I was only running four lines. I haven't had much luck after the sunsets when I go out after work, then again I don't stay out to long after because I work the next day.
chuck i never made it out at night thx for the info a guy told me yesterday small spinners in watermelon

i plan on trolling the whole day on fri. morn. will launch from sbh heading west? along the fence with harness's, spoons, sticks, etc.
any suggestions - i'm open
Ill pm ya later wishin. Give me a call then ill give my number
Bailey , when you run the sticks & harness off the dipsy are you useing diver or shallow running sticks ? Thanks
Divers 3 ft lead to 3 way then 5 to stick 3 to upper bait. Works well but some tangles are gonna happen. When ya net try to leave the line out without the fish ha ha makes it easier.
here is a link to the original luhr-jensen pro-staff tech-tip article on "double baits"
http://www.walleyeweb.com/tipstricks...nglakeerie.asp
stinger spoons and deep tail dancers are some of the currently available baits that work with this set-up
I quit running sticks it seems to me the bass eat em up like crazy this year but I haven't tried them deeper yet . I will this weekend. so far meat is tops for me. definatally going sun, sat is good possability. I may try the double rig myself again. but green carp drive me nuts, LOL.
Thanks for web site & great info.
Hey guys, Ive been lurking for awhile just takin in some info. Finally had something to share. Bottom bouncing harness(any color) inside breakwall yesterday afternoon was a blast. Took family out for joyride afterwork, threw a line out and maybe a min later "Fish ON". All dinks like a previous poster stated, but for the two toddlers on board they loved em! Good luck out there, hopefully headed north this weekend. Dam kings are fun to catch!
wow you guys really take me to school, when listening to bailey i have my 3-wy 3' up from my dipsy running something there that dosen't dive and my dispy running a worm harness or diving plug.
this other method of running dbl baits off the dispy is cool as well am i confused about bailey's method.
educate me as you have thanks
