I could have included all the Perch we caught and the one eye but I didn't want to rattle Joe to much.

Took a ride to SP yesterday & could't get over the parking lot was full, cars & trailers everywhere. Huts were way out East & west. Talked to 2 guys coming off the ice , they were out about 2 mi. & they had 28 all 12"-14" beautiful perch! If it wasn't for the cold, ice, & wind I would consider taking up ice fishing. My idea of ice fishing is a frosted mug with ice cold beer in hand trolling along on a nice July day! Perfect!

    Thumbs up Ice Fishing

Last catch of the ice season. It's was a great ice year lake Erie gave us, best I've ever seen, hope there's a few more like this one in the cards. And to boot, no cabin fever going on here .

3/16/2014 out fishing with the D/Train.

That's a nice fatty on top. I love the eggs before they loosen up. Throw both sacs in the frying pan with butter n a little minced garlic. Tasty

My father always ate/fried the perch eggs like this, I never aquired the taste for them. Did try them a few times.

I'll pass on the fish eggs, now if they tasted anything like escargot i'd be in food heaven. Bet there big on the fish eggs with road kill up in the bama swamps. (Red neck surf & Turf)... Beer battered Perch fry and perogies for dinner today.

No we don't do them fish eggs out here in bama but if your invited for dinner don't ask why the meat is so tender. Now I'm hungry guess I'll take a drive and see whats available for dinner.
