Great job captain Joe! I haven't been able to get out for a couple weeks due to either work or weather. I assume the fish are suspended now. Mind sharing how deep you are running your baits? Any info is greatly appreciated. I plan on getting out this weekend.
We were running Torpedo Deep Divers ( Similar to Dipseys ) on # 3 setting 140 back, another one on#1 setting 141 back. another Dipsey at #2 setting around 130 back. In 64 to 70 ft of water. Also we ran 7, 8 and 10 color. We ran Bay Rats on one side and our own fabricated worm harnesses on the other. Some days the harnesses produce and other days the Bay Rats. I was running the Southtowns Walleye 35 special lure and Blue Budda. See Fishkiller (Jim) at Ultimate Outdoors of WNY for these plugs.
Thanks for the info Captain Joe. Great fishing this morning. Fished in 61 fow with worm harnesses drifted right on the bottom. Got a two man limit in an hour and half.
Another great weekend - Fished Sat & Sun. 2 man limit each day. Same program. Sunday morning we couldn't get all our lines in. We were that busy. Then around 9:30 it slowed up. We also had a few Chinese fire drills going on. First fish had the plug all tangled in the net. Took a long time to get it out. A line broke on the in line board - we pulled everything in and found it - with the fish still on it. All in a day of fishing.
A little slower than Saturday, but another good night on the water. Fished from 6 - 9:30. Got a two man limit drifting worm harnesses on the bottom in 61 fow.
Got out Sat morning. It started real fast with 3 in the first 15 minutes, but as the wind died down the bite slowed. We ended up with 9. Fished wormharnesses in 61 fow with 6 coming off the bottom and 3 suspended.
Got out for about 5 hours yesterday afternoon/evening. Started off real slow but then picked up from about 5:30-7:30. Ended up with 11. Wormharnesses slow trolled in 63 fow with 3 on the bottom and one suspended. Anyone hearing about fish moving in shallower closer to Buffalo yet?
capt joe or anyone else, has anyone been fishing sp lately im head that way sunday morning I haven't been out in a while been a busy summer thx
jeff
They starting to catch eyes trolling Donleys Wall at night when the winds will allow you to get out.For daytime action you need to go to 60 to 65 ft water off the Canadian line. Better action straight out of Dunkirk Harbor to 105 to 112 ft water,70 down with Slide Divers and small spoons in copper with pink tape at 2.1 mph.
Got out today for a few hours. Managed 9 out of SP west about 3 miles. Was slow at 7:30 when we started then got better then slowed down. We only fished to 11. Had to get home to babysit. Oh well, the weather is supposed to be better the next few days. I hope - if it doesn't change.
I haven't been out for a couple weeks. Heading out Saturday morning. Does anyone know if they are still out by the Canadian line in 60-65 fow?
"go west young man"!!!!!!!!!!
im going to try sp this afternoon 65-70fow hopefully I can put a few in the box for winter
jeff
Morning started slow with only 1 in the first 2 hours (the perch were really a nuisance) and then picked up when we moved out to 66 fow. They only wanted watermelon harnesses today. Ended up with 7 and threw back one short. Probably could have got our limit but have commitments for the afternoon and had to head in.
How did you do Milt? We did good. 3 man limit. Although it took some time to get it. We went a while with nothing then boom double, triple headers, then nothing, then action again. The best ( or worse ) bite of the day was when the darn Bee stung me in my leg, by the knee. Oh well it may help the arthritis. There were many good reports out of SP. Bottom Bouncer we were in 68 to 73 ft of water.
I never got out I went and looked a new boat its been a crazy summer for me
jeff
We fished Dunkirk on Saturday. 95-110 fow straight out of the harbor. Best action was 60-70 feet down. Boxed 15 eaters 17" to 23".
Sad day today. I pulled the boat out of SP. Where did the summer go? Oh yeah - it was windy most of the time.
it was a fast summer and windy
jeff
Summer did go too fast, but when we were out it was the best fishing we've ever had. Going to try to get out the next 2 weekends. We haven't been out in 2 weeks. Is anyone hearing anything? I'm hoping they are still schooled in 60-65 fow.
I heard that they are still off the catt. But that was a few days ago.
i heard the same im also heard they are getting some at night by donnelys wall
Go get them Jeff. Is your boat still floating?
There are still fish in 60 fow just past the condos. Only managed to get three Sat morning but marked quite a few more, lost 2 and had several take the worm off at the bottom hook. I think they are moving in as we started in 66 fow and didn't start catching until we got back to 60-62 fow. Gonna give it one more weekend before I switch to deer hunting.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. :D
Looks like the weather buoy is down for the season :(
looks like the ice boom starting to go in
jeff

Looks like they might be taking the ice boom out. :)

jeff
Get that new boat ready. Will I see you at the show this weekend?
I probably show up to the show I cant wait to get the boat ready and in the water
jeff
Yup ice boom is being taken out. I heard it was the 2nd earliest. When I looked at the camera there was no ice behind it anyway.
Need things to slow down so I can try to get out after the perch or walleye.
