I signed up just so I cound respond to your comments about not many folks posting. I have been watching this and other sights for 3 years now. Regularly check post several times a week April-November. I am new to Lake Erie fishing, 18'6" deep-V aluminum boat. Have launched Huron, Cranberry, Lorain sites. Mostly trying to learn how to catch walleye casting and trolling.
I glean these sites and posting for information.
At this stage, I have not had any worthwhile information to contribute.
I greatly appreciate those who do post and ask they continue.
I will start posting each trip to contibute.
July 5 best this year, father and daughter with me picked 11 nice walleye in mostly 18-20 fow from Cranberry right in front of marina to off condos. Variety of baits, reef runners, harnesses. Best fight was 27" channel cat hit on reef runner 120 back off planer board, 30 fow. Took 20 minutes to winch him in 2 feet at a time.
July 11, daugher, father, brother in law, out of Cranberry at 6:30am. Picked 2 about 22" within half hour, one on reef runner bare naked perch, 2nd on geen earie dearie with crawler. Pretty bare after that, fed 2 dozen crawlers to small white bass. Headed to SW corner Sand Bar at noon, nothing happening out there. Wind kicked up nice breeze that turned the 30" run out into 1 hr and 40 minute run back into the waves at 4pm. Called it a day.
Will likely be mid August before I can get back up there.
