 Ashtabula Walleye Small Boat
5-23-20 Saturday in front of Walnut beach
one man walleye catch - trolling 1.5 MPH
27 " in 25 fow crankbait 1 oz sinker
20 " in 30 fow nightcrawer rig 1 oz sinker
20 " in 40 fow wobbler 2 oz sinker
20 " in 40 fow wobbler 2 oz sinker
6-6-20 Saturday in front of Walnut beach
walleye sitting near bottom 1-8 feet 53 FOW
I had to slow my boat down (less than 1 MPH) and make small turns
I used 3 oz weights and floating rapala and nightcrawler rig
talked to others. some drifted. reeling night crawler rigs off bottom a few turns than bouncing and dropping back to bottom
they landed more than 10 walleye. a style I will try later this summer
I landed 4 walleye 20" 21" 22" 26" and a 12" white bass
all fish from 49 to 54 FOW
both Memorial day and 6-7-20 were sunny days
most small boats did not have a good day
I caught 1 walleye each day
I have no idea how bigger boats did. it is not the same conversation.
I am within 5 miles of shore they go out much deeper north and farther westLast edited by Doug Lewis; 06-07-2020 at 10:38 PM.
