    Default 6/25/2016 lorain

Girlfriend and I went out of hotwaters headed out to the sandbar. Caught two quick keepers then nothing till around noon. About 5 or 6 throwbacks and lots of junk. 50-50 method with 3 Oz and 4.5 Oz snap weights and pink and purple harness. The next 4 came in one tiny area. Had to go over them and turn sharp and catch them with the faster lure and the stalled out lure. Didn't like the regular troll. Lots of chatter saying good things near the buoy.6/25/2016 lorain-33690-jpg

Thanks for the report, it seems that this year the Weather Buoy area is heating up. Nothing much there last year out there but in previous years we have done very well, but it is a 34 mile round trip from Vermilion.
We fished the Sand Bar area yesterday 6/26 and had a record catch of Sheephead ..... and 3 good Walleye eaters ... lol

That's a long run roy. Your right when you said that around noon when the wind picked up a bit they started biting. Then no wind no bite. One more thing I noticed was quite a few marks that looked like perch.

If the weather works, next weekend we will make that long run to the Weather Buoy as we never went out there last year.
Really interesting how the bite picked up and died with the wind.

Yesterday was not as good as last weekend. We did very good last weeking with 26 fish Sat 30 before noon sunday morning and another 27 in 6 hrs for my evening trip. Yesterday we only had 11 fish by noon and by 130 had our 24. Been fishing the 32 line. We were marking 50-100yd stretches of maylfies covering the bottom 20fow. Bite was tough as expected during the hatch. Heard the buoy was ok early then shut off by 930am like the rest of the lake seemed to.
