Yes nice sized perch, I prefer a limit at 3 to a lb over smaller 4 fish to a lb and even the larger fish when they get to the 2 to a lb size. The smaller fish, there is not much there after cleaning even though they taste excellent and larger they don't have that certain taste those 3 to a lb fish have they just are not as flavorable. But that is just me and everyone has their own preference. That is the reason I don't go to the eastern Ohio fishery.
Last weeks post I promised some pics of something new that I have been trying but unfortunately the ignition switch on my boat gave out and I had to bypass the switch in order to come in on the main motor, I fed power back to the switch from the main power to the switch to the instrument panel and back to the switch so I could start the boat with the key also jumpered from main power to the run wire from switch so boat would keep running once started. I was so intent on that that I forgot to take the pics of not only the fish but the new trick I have been using.
With no pics I will attempt to show what I am doing and it really does seem to work, but once again that is only my opinion and what I perceive as experience.
I purchased one of these in the green variety off of Ebay and extended the power cable from about 18 feet to 50 feet so I could reach bottom. I soldered the wires for strenth over crimps where I spliced in regular low voltage landscape lighting wire and covered the splices with liquid tape then used water proof shrink tubing to finish the connection and seal out water. I am not advocating that anyone rush out and buy one of these but am saying to think for yourselves as to what to do. I really do believe it makes a difference, especially on neutral to low activity fish but not on those fish in the negitive mood.
