Crawler prices were influenced by supply due to the cold late spring (frozen ground) in Canada where a lot of them come from, and they couldn't gather them as early as usual... At my age with my knees even $4 is preferable to a night bent over in a cold rain...

Bait like everything else is an essential part of the fishing scene. The $4.00 per scoop charge for lake shiners is inmaterial to the overall cost of the days fishing. I would rather pay the added cost of $1.50 extra per scoop for the proven & proper bait than a slightly lesser price for a substitute(goldies) that may or may not work on that particular day of fishingi
