    Default Insurance?

I have Tow Insurance through boat U.S. and was wondering if any of you guys use them to insure your boat as well or if you use your local agent. Just trying to see whats out their and what you experienced boaters prefer? Sorry if this post is out of line here but lets face it who looks at the other threads lol

I have my boat insured with boat U.S. Allstate wanted almost twice as much as boat U.S. and I use Allstate for for homeowners multiple cars and a camper. I also added some additional coverage for fishing gear.

I use Rescue Marine in Marblehead. Good outfit. Lots of choices but under no conditions should you leave the dock without tow insurance.

I shopped around about 4 years ago. Allstate, State Farm, Progressive. Ended up going with Boat US. They cover what ever you declare your boat to be worth (KBB will give you a good idea). Covers $500 of tackle with the fisherman's deal, plus some towing ( I don't remember how much). Then, I supplement with the Boat US membership and the towing option. My sister got her boat stuck on the Sandusky Bay sandbar and had to pay $3000 out of pocket with no tow insurance, so it is definitely worth it!

I have a agreed value insurance policy on my boat thru worldwide marine insurance. Could you replace your boat for what your insurance would value it at ????? I doubt many could. If you don't have a agreed value policy I suggest you talk to someone who can set you up with one. I went with Bob Luellen and even if you don't get it thru Bob, he will give all the important info you really need to know about marine insurance. If I have a loss today, I get the price we agreed on when my policy was setup, not what JOE at state farm thinks my boat is worth now.

that comes with my policy and thats almost half of what I pay for a year with a agreed value policy . I think you should ck it out next season Aaron with that new boat. I think you will save some money.
