if you don't have a depth chart you can do this, look at the angle of your line if it's 45 degrees use a multiplier of .7, .5 for 30 and .25 for 15 degrees. so 50 feet of line at an angle of 45 would be 35 feet deep, 25 for 30 degrees and 12.5 feet for 15 degrees. This works well with dipseys and heavy weights. If you are flat lining cranks it's not as accurate because the line will have a bow in it.

Fishing just off the reefs in 24 FOW we punched two tickets before noon running jointed DDHJ 6-1/2" in green and purple no weights 55-65 back on walleye inline boards, that would equate to 13-16 feet down depending on speed etc. We were running around 1.5 to 1.8 according to the GPS. Remember walleyes tend to feed up so trolling slightly above your marks usually works better.

As suggested by others get a Precision Trolling guide for accurate reliable information. Dive charts for almost all baits are in the book including plain lead weights.

Thanks everyone for all your replies. Man people sure are friendly on this forum compared to the Forum to the north.,I think I'll just post here and fish Ohio from now on. Well I have only bought a few dive charts on the precision trolling app cause the cost adds up quick. I'll have to look into the snap weight chart. Thanks again
