Explain south wind

Im talking weather wise with the conditions that were already in place with a working crack. Remember the plywood bridge that was talked about ? Everyone saw it coming and was even warned others on many sites . Guys were hoping to get off before the worst winds got there but didn't . Here is the weather for that day as well . 49 degree Temp with gusts to to 43 mph with a working crack . Surprise !!!

Thanks for the link! I do remember the Ottawa Co. Sheriff blowing steam on TV, but the rescue was based in Lucas Co. Anyhow a couple of years later he got himself into a legal jam, never did hear how that turned out.
