It was a somber day on the Lake yesterday with all the air traffic, and knowing what was going on. Sick feeling in my stomach as we headed out and kept "watching" the water. I did not know anyone involved, and yet it effected me a great deal. My heart is with those families.
The fact that there was supposedly no damage to the boat makes you wonder if his anchor got thrown overboard and grabbed at high speed or something. Pure speculation on my part and just wondering out loud.

Still saddened by this tragic loss. I didn't know Bryan personally but feel like I did. Reading his Facebook page, I know he was a guy I wish I could have spent some time with. God speed Bryan to you and the others abord.

The Western Basin of Lake Erie is a dangerous place. When wind and shallow waters meet, all bets are off. We all knows this.
I do not not know these people, but I know their story. It has been played out every year in one way or another. It is terrible. It sucks. It is what we all know is possible.
Yet, we launch our vessels...

thanks all for thoughts and concern
I have been following this very sad and tragic story since the start and wanted to say what a great community we have here on walleye. Com the many comments , prayers, and thoughts for the family and friends of these missing boaters is very loving, I along with others have stated a sick to the stomach feeling over this tragedy. So please if you are a friend of these missing people please add my thoughts to the list of concerned fellow boaters and fisherman. I am sure all on this site when going out over the next few months will be thinking of these men and women. Please please please be extra careful out there mblmike

Keep the faith. It is truly sad but we all put our self in jeopardy every time we go out on the lake. Sad but true. We all know of disasters of what can and hope will not happen. Be safe every one.
