I think a lot of guys use pool noodles. I like these ones from Netcraft that go in a clear tube myself.

I use those also and like them a lot. We store them in a Sterilite box designed for letter size folders. They are perfect for storing about 6-7 tubes standing upright.

We make our noodle 3 ft long that way you can store 20 to 30 or more harnesses on one. We use the snap clevis's to take the blades off and put the noodle in cabin when not using no snagged hooks because the a buried in the noodle. With the dowl rod inside they stay in place with the bobbie pin.

    Default Harness holders

Walmart sells them for $9.00. They are Plano snell rig holders. It comes with 18 snell holders and each one holds at least 2 harnesses. Work really well and store away nice.

We use the pool noodles, but we get the ones with the hole in the middle to stuff a dowl rod into to make it stiff. Then just bury the hooks and wrap up and use a bobbie pin to secure it. I find that a thicker noodle is better, you get less line memory.

What type of bag or box do you store all the chunks of pool noodles in?

We just store ours in a small duffel bag. We also use the noodles for our casting rigs. The noodles work great and they are very inexpensive.
