Ice has not been stable at all. What kind of report would you like? People will be scouting next few days I suppose, if not by weekend. But that don't mean ice is good. Wait until you get SEVERAL solid reports. Barring any catastrophes, we will get a lot of good fishing in. The coldest weeks are still two weeks away, and bite generally does not start until late Jan, early Feb anyway.

No first hand knowledge , but reports on other pages had guys out today at Catawba . 4-8 inches of ice with 3 walleyes and several perch .
