Tipping
I always tip with minnows. Some say it doesn't matter. Just don't tip if your pitching & flipping. You will snap the minnow off. A lot of people also take the stinger off when pitching. Your call. Good luck and good fishing

I am convinced that a feeding walleye will eat a piece of furry lead bristling with hooks and smelly paint.

water temp
The walleye will take a bare jig or jig with a worm nearly the same. Late April and early May a bare jig will work normally but use a shiner for insurance. Mid 50 degree water temps they start eating worms. The bare hook time is the hungry time. You cant beat a jig n minnow. Save the worms for another couple weeks or so. Report after Wednesday and Thursday's charters.
