The walleye will take a bare jig or jig with a worm nearly the same. Late April and early May a bare jig will work normally but use a shiner for insurance. Mid 50 degree water temps they start eating worms. The bare hook time is the hungry time. You cant beat a jig n minnow. Save the worms for another couple weeks or so.
