Default Water Dogs ~ Walleye Report

On Good Friday Water Dog got her feet wet~!
The start of another season, loveit!
Plan to fish on Saturday and geting jiggy with it.
Had a kicker installed in the off season and will try some trolling this year.
The water temp in the marina was 40 degrees so its time to fish on

Default Water is too cold~! 37*

Fished on the east side of Camp Perry in close trolling and no hits.
Went north to the reefs, Crib and Niagra and the same no hits.
I trolled and got jiggy and no go. Water is COLD, everywhere I went it was below 40*. The lake was really calm so it was a good day to be on the lake.

    Default Water is 42'

Caught my first walleye this season, ( a Jack) near "K" can on Sunday April 14th~!
I was getting "jiggy" with in 12 fow with a john deer jig, stinger tiped with a minnow.
Also, I had a spreader with minnows dragin the bottom.
There were two of us fishen.
I have been out 3 times now....and this is the warmest the water has been.
I was trolling then jigging.....doing it all.
Many boats were out on Sunday, everywhere you looked.
It is just a matter of time before the water warms and it is game on!

Congrats. WTG. Just a thought. Forget the spreader. Jig 2 poles. Try it.....you'll like it. Keeps balance, presentation, and timing to fine art

    Default Two poles

I agree you can also try a diferent color or weight rig on one rod and also try different jig paterns then when you start catching fish you can zero in on what is working remember the fish are there find out what they want
