Fishing Mother Erie in April on the western can be fantastic!!!The jig fish are biting and the big girls are only five or six miles offshore.Just know the weather and where the fish are before you make the drive.Local baitshops can and will help you out on the where and how. That is their buisness.

    Default Lake Erie Trends

Jig, The walleyes come to the west end of Lake Erie every spring to spawn. They will come back to the central and eastern basins when they are done doing thier spawning duty first. As the song says- "That's just the way it is"

Jig - I would think you'll want to go well west of Cleveland, even Sandusky.
If your boats on a trailer, hook it up and go to Port Clinton or Oak Harbor.
You'll find plenty of places to drop your boat and plenty of fish. You won't
have to look far. You should see the boats as soon as you're on the lake.
