ODNR New Low for Revenue
Just received a phone call from an eyewitness of ODNR video taping fisherman and writing tickets for catching more than a 1 person legal limit. Did I type it write????????? You can catch 4 fish and that's it as far as putting it in the livewell or cooler forget it. No more boat limit. Your fishing for fun after 4 and your buddies are on their own.. Be advised.
Good Luck and Good Fishing

I have talked directly to the ODNR Officer with the same issue about steelhead fishing. Once I have my 2 steelhead on the stringer can I continue to catch and release. He said Yes you can continue to fish. as catch and release, you cannot have over your limit in possession.

What's next, Big Brother?
If 3 of us are out trolling with 6 lines and one of us limits out, do we have to pull in 2 of the lines while the guy with the limit sits on his hands for the rest of the trip? In Missouri while trout fishing in a boat, each man must have his own creel or stringer, no sharing. We only got a warning since we were out of state. Note: Dr. Ed will be dragging lines near "D" can again this Friday. Ch.71 or 68.

Under the current conditions I don't believe that you have to pull your lines, but it would be illegal for you to land another walleye and then put it in the cooler for your friends who have'nt limited yet. Be best if you left those fishermen land all the fish and box them until they have there limits caught and in their possession. Then all 3 of you can fun fish the rest of the day! That is how I see the law they are enforcing.

NO for several reasons. Number 1, you can still catch and release....number 2 maybe you are fishing for another species. Just because you still have lines in the water doesn't mean you aren't fishing for sheaphead, steelhead, etc...
Now, I read on another forum that the incident that took place was a guy on a head boat hooking fish and then handing the rods off to his kids. Still a bunch of B.S. especially if it were kids involved but maybe I could see a slight point in case if it were a head boat situation.
I dunno...just seems like the DNR could do something alot more productive with their time than nit picking the crap out of everything. It's all a bunch of B.S.

Please define "Catch" for me? If I hook a fish and hand the rod to my buddy and he reels the fish in, who caught the fish? Just wondering?

That law has been around for years. just never enforced on boaters. if you was at maumee river and had your limit you cant give your fish to the guy next to you. boat is same thing.
