This new to me boat actually takes less water to float than my older boat does. I simply failed to compensate for the water depth in the areas between the waves and also failed to follow my own advise and watch the depth of the water with the sonar. Been on this lake since 1955 and have been unlucky twice in those years. Had I not thought or cared that the small boat might be in trouble this would not have happened. I had left water 15 to 18 ft deep and veered my course at least 60 degrees to port to offer possible assistance to a fellow boater. The water was sloppy enough that moving the out drive to higher position or slowing down more would have caused me to possibly lose control of my boat.

The guys and kids we seen on the bass boat ,I don't know what they was thinking .. wakinas boat is 23 ft I think and it was a rough ride in it . I would not want to be on a bass boat that day.
I may have cought the bigger fish but I would have to say that was just luck .Last edited by empty hooks; 09-06-2011 at 11:00 AM.
